What a week! We'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but we've been busy this week! Since Monday afternoon we've cut the grass, planted a garden, torn out the great room walls, run new electrical, installed insulation, installed new windows, hung drywall and scraped off a speckled ceiling. We haven't done it alone, though. Angie's parents are here helping us - what a blessing! We've got a long way to go still but we're getting there. Here's a slide show of what we've done so far (move your mouse over each pic to see the caption). More soon...
new things
To all of you who have asked - our new home is closer to becoming a reality. We're closing this week and will start a BIG remodel next week. Needless to say, we both have a new appreciation for people who can spend hours at a time in home improvement stores (cough - dad). It's so fun to dream and plan about a home that will truly be ours. The process can be overwhelming at times, but we're trying to remember this is a lifetime investment. It won't ever really be "done." But, for now we're tackling the bathroom, great room, kitchen, and a garage roof all in a week (with some much needed help from Angie's dad)! It's extreme makeover: welmers edition! :0) Without further ado, here's a picture of the house as it is now... (isn't it cute!?!)
